Connecticut Travel Medicine is designed to meet each indivdual's particular needs depending upon destination, length of stay, climate, activities and living accomodations. A travel visit is a pre-departure appointment with a physician or nurse practitioner who has expertise in the area of travel medicine. We can review your personal medical history, provide the proper immunizations, prescribe medications to help prevent diseases such as
malaria, and help you prepare for a safe travel experience. If you have allergies, are pregnant, suffer from a chronic heart, lung or stomach condition or on many medications, the discussion will focus on how your specific travel plans will affect your condition and how to manage your symptoms.
Are you aware of which types of vaccinations you or those traveling with you may need?
Please bring a list of your immunization history with you at your visit, without this it is difficult to determine what immunizations you will need. It is always best to plan ahead, please make this appointment well before your travel plans to ensure any immunizations you might need will be able to be administered effectively.
The fees for the appointment will vary with the level of service provided. Some patients may require two or three appointments
to complete the schedule of immunizations needed. You will have to check with your insurance company to
determine the level of insurance coverage for these fees.
