Ross L. Winakor, MD, MPH

Dr. Winakor joined Mansfield Family Practice in 2003. He is a graduate of Tulane University School of Medicine in New Orleans, Louisiana. He received a Masters degree in Public Health (MPH) in Epidemiology from Tulane University School of Public Health. Dr. Winakor completed his Residency in Family Practice at Hunterdon Medical Center in Flemington, New Jersey, where he was elected to serve as Chief Resident. He completed a Fellowship in Primary Care Sports Medicine at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, where he served as an Assistant Team Physician for the University of Pittsburgh. While a resident, Dr. Winakor has served on the Board of Trustees of the New Jersey Academy of Family Physicians and was also national committee representative of the American Academy of Family Physicians. Since 2004 he has also served on the Board of Directors of the Connecticut Academy of Family Physicians and he was also selected to serve on the Connecticut State Medical Society Committee on the Medical Aspect of Sports. Dr. Winakor was certified as an aviation medical examiner in 2009. A native to Norwich, Connecticut, he has two children.
